Fathers Day Weekend

"When you wish upon a star, it makes no difference who you are"
Jimminy

It was a bust weekend for me, and it all started on Saturday.... [cue magical noise]

On Friday I got a phone call from my friend telling me that I could be an extra in a movie. So on Saturday, I got all prettied up in a prom dress (see above) and left to the filming set. The scene was filmed at Thanksgiving Point. It was magical to say the least (hmmm... I feel an anology coming on... stay tuned). It even stopped raining just when we needed it to. Filming started around 8 o'clock pm but call time was 7:45. When did it end you ask? I got home a little after 3 in the morning. And you know what? It was SOOOOOOOOOO worth it. I would do it again in less then a heart beat. Most of us were paired up with a "date". My "date's" name is Bobby. If you're woundering he's almost 21. He was a really cool guy. There are so many stories I could tell you. But I won't. Sorry. ButI will tell you that we are for sure in the movie. So when you're watching You're so Cupid on ABC Family and the prom scene comes on you will see me (quite a few times actually). Yes it got cold but I didn't mind. It was really funny because when evryone was tired and cold and complaining I couldn't really figure out what they where talking about because I was having the time of my life! Enough about that though. (you're probably sick about here about it) Are you ready for the analogy now? (I warned you)

  • Fairy Godmother = Ashley (In SO many ways. Thank you tons Ashley!)
  • Ball Gown = Prom Dress
  • Ball = Fake Prom
  • The had a pumpkin-like carraige there
  • I guess you could say there was a prince but I never got to meet him.
  • Gorgeous Garden = Gorgeous Garden
  • Dream come true for one night = A Dream come true

There's a few. I'm sure you can make a few more connections. Any hoot... The next day (Actually tecnically it was the same day seeing how I got home at 3) was Fathers day. Peter and I sang in church together. In my opinion I crashed and burned. Yes it was scary and I was very nervous. My parents (especaillly Dad) were happy because we couldn't say anything embarassing. I knew we should have sang "our" version instead of the real Love is Spoken Here.

Then after church we had to work like the dickens because we were haveing copany over. I was still tired from the night before (So worth it) and I also had a headache. But I survived. Dinner with my family is always crazy. Peter and I started it off by knocking down a big hornets nest from one of the window wells then booking it into the house. I wish I had pictures but I didn't even stick around long enough to see if Peter actually knocked it down. Dinner was GOOOOOOOD... With extra OOOOs in the middle. As fun as dinner was, I still was in a bit of a cloud from the previous night.

Needless to say that I had a busy weekend. Now I know that I am serious about doing film acting. It's something I really want to do. If anyone knows a really good agent, please tell them about me. I'm still going to major in Culinary Arts (so don't worry Mom). I will not deny that this has been an intersting post and if you have made it this far, then good on ya guddy (guy +buddy. Bobby made it up after one of the takes)! Hope you all had a great Fathers Day!

  1. Huzzah! I'm so glad you had an adventerous weekend! And I'm glad you got your feet wet in the "film" industry. Being an extra is a great way to get to know people and understand how the politics of the film world work.

I wish you the best! :D
